Fee Increases at the EPO

The European Patent Office (EPO) has announced [↗] fee increases that are to take effect from 1 April 2026. These fee increases are part of the EPO's regular cadence of fee increases and are generally more modest (in percentage terms) than those announced by the UKIPO. In general the fees are increasing by about 5%.

Applicants may wish to review their pending European patent applications to see whether it is possible to pay any fees before 1 April 2026 in order to take advantage of the lower fee levels.
