Non-Exclusive Licence

Non-Exclusive Licence

A specific type of licence that permits an entity (or licensee) to use the invention covered by a patent but does not restrict the owner (or proprietor) of that patent from issuing further licences to other third parties.  This type of licence is generally considered less valuable than an Exclusive Licence because the licensee does not receive exclusive use of the invention and may face competition from other licensees.
