Drafting
The process of creating a patent specification to be filed as part of a patent application.
Arguably, this is the most important part of a patent application's life as, once a patent application has been filed, the options for changing what it contains are very limited. In drafting the patent application, it is necessary to balance commercial and legal considerations, as well as to anticipate potential issues that may arise, in order to optimise both the chances of successfully obtaining a patent and the value of that patent to its owner.
